bodywork + energy medicine

I practice Acupressure, Tui Na and Shiatsu. Each modality is rooted in Chinese medicine philosophy and focuses on harmonizing the vital flow of life energy as it courses through the meridian system. The meridian system is a series of pathways enlivening and governing all systems, functions and structures of the body. By relating to the meridian system, I gain insights into the interrelationship of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers that make up my clients' experience.

I was trained to use a listening touch that allows my client's system to guide our session. Practicing in this way, I meet the person where they are and respond to what is present.

Acupressure is the practice of using finger pressure to work with points, gathering places of energy along the meridians, to bring balance to the body. I use acupressure in all my sessions, whether Tui Na or Shiatsu based. It is applied over loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.

tui na

Tui Na, meaning "push pull," utilizes various hand techniques and rhythmic movement to open, move, and stretch the body. It can be more active or passive to remove blockages and restore harmony. Tui Na is done on a table over loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.

Shiatsu means "finger pressure" in Japanese. Using compressions, stretches and dispersal techniques, I apply palms, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to open the body. Shiatsu is done on the floor over loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.
